Birds of a Feather

It has done nothing but rain {and snow!} the last few weeks at our house. We were not going to let that ruin our Memorial Day though. Luckily there was a momentary break in the clouds so I took JW to Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park to enable his obsession with birds.I grew up near Liberty Park and remember going to Tracy Aviary as a kid. Back then it was pretty small and ghetto. It has been at least 25 years since I've been back. I was pleasantly suprised at how beautiful it is now! Lovely gardens and awesome birds. Ready, set, go check it out!

JW posed for the picture (above), but the peacock in the background was being camera shy.

Not this guy though. He had his feathers out to impress all the women. The peacocks were strutting all over the Aviary.

In the "rainforest" JW was so infatuated with these little squakers prancing around.
This man was standing nearby with this gorgeous Golden Eagle. JW really wanted to pet the bird. Fortunately it started to rain so I could make a great escape to cover before a tantrum ensued and one little boy risked getting his eyes pecked out.

I managed to take a trip to Holland and it was quite lovely.
